Around the world, over 44 million people are refugees. In Rwanda alone, more than 45,000 refugee students navigate extraordinary barriers — not because they lack ability, but because they lack access. Access to quality education. To mentors. To university applications. To a pathway into the professional world.
Light4Refugee is a refugee-led initiative working directly in Mahama (550+ refugees) and Kiziba (52+ refugees) — two of Rwanda's largest refugee camps (and still expanding to other camps). We don't parachute in. We grow from within. Our programs are built by and for the communities we serve, which is why they work.
We are building Africa's largest refugee talent pipeline — a continuous pathway that takes students from refugee high school, through university, and into meaningful careers. Not aid dependency. Sustainable futures.
